The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of February 23:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

Fishing is good.  Water lightly stained; 43 degrees; 1.97 feet low.

Largemouth bass are good with perch-like crankbaits, brown or green Texas-rigged plastic worms, chartreuse bladed spinners, and shaky head jigs near timber, rocky shorelines, and docks.

Crappie are good on minnows and jigs in brush piles and near bridge pilings.

White bass and hybrids are good on slabs, swimbaits, and live bait along the main lake channels, humps, and ridges.

Catfish are good on shrimp, chicken liver, and live bait.

LAKE CISCO

Fishing is good.  Water clear; 44 degrees; 3.44 feet low.

Crappie are fair with the bite improving.

Largemouth bass are slow using large shiner minnows.

Channel catfish are fair and improving on worms, are warming up.

LAKE COLEMAN

Fishing is fair.  Water slightly stained; 40 degrees; 1.75 feet low.

Hybrid stripers are fair deadsticking with slabs.

Largemouth bass are fair with topwater, worms, and jerkbaits just off the timber in deeper water and brush.

Crappie remain good on jigs and minnows in brush piles.

Catfish are fair with stink bait and cut bait.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

Fishing is GREAT.  Water clear; 43 degrees; 16.44 feet low.

Bass are good using Alabama rigs, jerkbaits and swimbaits.

Crappie are fair on jogs and minnows.

LAKE PROCTOR

Fishing is slow.  Water clear; 45 degrees; 1.74 feet low.  Due to high winds and cold temperatures all fishing is slow on the lake.

Crappie are slow on brush piles using minnows and jigs.

Catfish are slow drifting with cut bait.

White bass and hybrid stripers are slow, small slabs will be the key.

Black bass are slow.
