Sandra Jean Powell

Sandra Jean Powell, age 50 of Early passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, February 12th, 2022. Her family will host a visitation on Friday the 18th from 6 to 8 pm at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. A graveside service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday February 19th at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early with Pastor Jim Maxwell officiating.

Sandra was born on Friday, August 13, 1971 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Robert and Isabel Perez. She attended college at Western Michigan University and graduated with a Masters Degree in Engineering Management. Sandra was a member of the Sigma Chi International Fraternity. Sandra married Ryan Powell on March 1, 2003 and they began a life together that blessed them with 2 children. Sandra worked as a Supervising Engineer for 3M Co. for the last 17 years. She was happiest when out running in nature. Sandra enjoyed coaching her youngest daughter, Riley in basketball. She also liked watching all sporting events, especially football. Sandra loved being in the house of God and was a member of the Freedom Fellowship Church in Early.

Sandra is survived by her husband Ryan Powell of Early; daughters, Riley Powell of Early, Jade Perez and Andy Kooistra of Hudsonville, MI; one grandson Carter Perez; parents Robert and Isabel Perez of Wyoming, MI; brother Robert Perez and wife Shauna of San Antonio, TX; sister Priscilla Berry and husband Jimmy of Wyoming, MI; mother-in-law Linda Powell of Caledonia, MI; brother-in-law Matt Powell of Caledonia, MI; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Antonio and Anastacia Santellan; paternal grandparents, Gabriel and Maria Perez.
