Early sweeps Millsap, Bangs drops pair to Comanche

EARLY – The Early Longhorns improved to 6-2 in District 8-3A competition and 19-8 for the season with a 75-28 home victory over Millsap Tuesday night,

The Longhorns were led in their victory over Millsap (5-20, 1-7) by Jaxyn Price with 18 points, Vic Cooper with 17, John-Stewart Gordon with 11, Jeremy Brown with 10, Korbin Barr with nine, Kaleb Hoffman with four, and Dalton Adams and Andrew Caten with two points each.

Lady Horns 40, Millsap 38

EARLY – The Early Lady Horns picked up a crucial District 8-3A home victory over Millsap, 40-38, Tuesday night to remain in the thick of the postseason hunt.

Early (10-14, 5-5) led Millsap (11-10, 6-4) by a 13-11 count after one quarter, 24-17 at halftime and 30-29 through three periods.

Madison Torrez led the Lady Horns with 11 points trailed by Carrigan Norris with eight, Dana Lykes with seven, Caroline Welker and Averey Horton with four each, and Jordan Simmons and Taylor Summers with three points apiece.

Comanche 36, Lady Dragons 26

BANGS – The Bangs Lady Dragons slipped to 9-19 overall and 2-8 in District 8-3A action with a 36-26 home loss to Comanche Tuesday night.

Bangs led 16-14 at halftime, but Comanche (9-13, 3-7) grabbed a 29-25 lead at the end of the third quarter.

The Lady Dragons received 10 points from Maggie Morales and eight from Brooklann Mullins.

Comanche 65, Dragons 33

BANGS – The Bangs Dragons slipped to 0-8 in District 8-3A action and 3-13 on the season with a 65-33 home loss Tuesday night to Comanche (8-10, 3-5).
