Nina Elaine Russell

Nina Elaine Russell, age 83 of Cisco passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2pm Friday, January 21st prior to the funeral service at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early. Interment to follow at Connell Cemetery.

Nina was born Tuesday, July 19, 1938 she grew up in Homestead, Florida. She was the 9th child born to Homer and Edith Sullivan. She married Shorty Russell on August 10, 1958 and they began a life together that blessed them with 2 children. They made their home in Brownwood for over 50 years. Nina loved people and worked as a warranty/accounts payable clerk for several motor companies in Brownwood. Nina enjoyed riding and showing cutting horses with Shorty. She loved to travel and their business allowed for great adventures. Nina loved sports and watching her grand and great grandchildren compete in numerous sporting events as well as rodeo. Later in life, Nina found her true calling working as an aide with special needs children in Early.

Nina is survived by her husband Shorty Russell; son Scott Russell and wife Becky of Mullin; daughter Debbie Baker and husband Jim of Cisco; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by 5 brothers; 3 sisters; her mother Edith and father Homer Sullivan.
