Tuesday, January 15

*3:48 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2700 block of Belmeade Street regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant had noticed that his pecan harvester was missing from the garage of his residence.  The complainant was able to provide to police a copy of video surveillance of the burglary which showed the suspect and the suspect vehicle, the report states.

Wednesday, January 16

*10:12 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 800 block of Avenue J regarding a Facebook scam in which the complainant reported losing $560.

*10:08 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the report of criminal mischief in the 2200 block of Durham.  According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had poured a white granulated substance he believed to be sugar in the gas tanks of both of his vehicles.  The officer observed the white granulated substance in the neck area and around the neck area of the fuel tanks.  The complainant additionally advised that he did not know who may have done the damage.  No suspect information was able to be located, the report states.

*12:16 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding harassment.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she was being threatened by her ex-common law husband.

*12:48 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1200 block of Austin Avenue regarding fraud.  According to the report, a suspect cashed a check stub as a legitimate check for cash.

*3:03 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3200 block of 1st Street regarding a civil standby.  According to the report, during the standby, a male subject was noticed walking in the apartment complex that the officer recognized as being someone who had warrants for his arrest.  The subject provided the officer a false name, but was later confirmed to be 29-year-old Jerry Allen Leonard, the report states.  Leonard was arrested and charged with failure to identify-fugitive intentionally gives false information.

*3:41 PM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1700 block of Fort Worth regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a 32-inch flat screen television was stolen from the residence.   A possible suspect was identified but could not be located.

*4:23 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Irma Street regarding identity theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she was advised by the Internal Revenue Service that someone was using her identification back in 2011 and that someone is still using her identification this year as well.

*7:21 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Slayden Street regarding theft.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a gold and diamond wedding ring had been stolen from his residence.

*8:56 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the report of a hit and run in the 1000 block of Avenue K.  According to the report, an unknown person, in an unidentified vehicle struck his 1995 Chevrolet pickup.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
