BFD Fire & Rescue Reports 1/15

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of January 6-12, 2013 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 27 medical emergencies, 3 fire calls, 2 hazardous materials calls and 4 motor vehicle accidents.

Reports of interest include:

Sunday, January 6

*1:17 PM – BFD responded to a hazardous materials in the 900 block of Norwood Street regarding the smell of gas in home.

Tuesday, January 8

*1:23 AM – BFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 400 block of W. Commerce where a single vehicle struck a building.

Wednesday, January 9

*7:02 AM – BFD responded to a three vehicle accident with no injuries in the intersection of Austin Avenue and Main Street.

*3:01 PM – BFD was called to a motor vehicle accident in the 3900 block of 4th Street where a motor vehicle struck a pedestrian.

*4:36 PM – BFD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Farm Market Road 2126 where a single vehicle had struck a tree. According to the report, the occupant was transported to the hospital by Guardian EMS.

Thursday, January 10

*12:48 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire in the 3300 block of Stephen F Austin.  Firefighters responded to a call of a gas can on fire, which was out upon arrival of fire crews.

Friday, January 11

*1:42 AM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 1200 block of 1st Street. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a two-story wood frame structure with flames visible.  All residents were confirmed to be out of the structure.  Fire attack was initiated and firefighters remained on scene throughout the morning.

*5:03 AM – BFD was called to a fire in the 2300 block of Magnolia.  Firefighters responded to a call of an apartment fire.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find an electrical wire had shorted out and maintenance was contacted.

Saturday, January 12

*6:33 PM – BFD responded to a hazardous materials call in the 1000 block of La Monte where a gas meter had been struck by a vehicle.  The gas was turned off.
