Billie Mae Smith, aged 90, passed away November 26, 2021, in Rising Star, Texas.

Billie was born August 2, 1931, to John Calvin and Cora Irene (Goins) Egger in Mills County. Billie married Oliver Pinson June 7, 1947, and had 2 daughters, Sue and Geretta. Late she married Arthur Vaughn Smith and had 4 children, Billy, Linda, and twins Clifton and Colita Faye, their lives were cut short, Clifton only living 20 hours and Colita only 12 hours. Billie loved to watch movies, going shopping and was a very loving mother and grandmother. She attended Living water Church in Cross Plains.

Billie is survived by her children, Sue Gosnell and husband Tim of Abilene, Geretta William and husband Joe of Brownwood, Billy Vaughn Smith of Abilene, Linda Pirtle and husband Bill of Cross Plains; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Johnny Egger and wife Flora of Brownwood.

She was preceded in death by children, Clifton and Colita Faye; parents John and Cora Egger; brother, Willie Egger; and 2 sisters; Lorene Minica and Lucille Newcombe.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at the Ebony Cemetery in Mills County with Bro. Bill Slaymaker officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday evening at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
