BFD Fire & Rescue Reports 12/26

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of December 16-22, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 33 medical emergencies, 7 fire calls, 3 Haz-Mat calls and 6 motor vehicle accidents.

Reports of interest include:

Sunday, December 16

*2:20 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a fire call at 2001 Austin Ave.  They arrived on scene at Coggin Park to a trash fire that had been set in a BBQ pit.  Fire was extinguished.

*9:31 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a fire call in the 1600 block of County Road 234.  Responded to call of transformer arcing.  They met Oncor on scene.

Monday, December 17

*1:23 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a fire call at 512 W Commerce for an alarm activation.  Upon arrival they found that dust from construction caused alarm to activate. Firefighters reset alarm and cleared the scene.

Tuesday, December 18

*12:13 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a Haz-Mat call at 2601 Crocket They arrived on scene for an oil spill.

*2:37 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at 2800 Austin Avenue with a vehicle vs utility pole.  No injuries.

*9:44 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a Haz-Mat call at 714 Hickory for the smell of natural gas. Atmos was contacted.

*9:52 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a fire call at 2705 Greenway Drive. They arrived on scene of a single story wood frame apartment building. Occupant had fire out upon arrival. Firefighters ventilated apartment.

Wednesday, December 19

*4:13 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 200 block of W. Commerce involving 3 vehicles.  They assisted loading patients into Guardian.

*4:55 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at Austin Ave / Parkway involving 2 vehicles. They checked for injuries and provided first aid.

*9:03 PM – Brownwood Fire Department assisted the Bangs VFD with a 3-5 acre grass fire at 3420 County Road 180.

Thursday, December 20

*4:08 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a fire call at 1514 Indian Creek. The incident was determined to be a smoke detector activation due to malfunction.  The alarm company was notified and requested to check the system.

Friday, December 21

*2:14 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at 3707 Austin Ave involving 2 vehicles. No injuries reported.

Saturday, December 22

*1:11 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at 401 W Commerce.

*4:00 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a fire call a 318 Bluffview. They arrived on scene to find a small camp fire. Fire was extinguished without incident.  PD was on scene.

*8:20 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at 2800 US 377 involving 2 vehicles. Guardian transported occupant.

*8:29 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a Haz-Mat call at 101 Broadmoor. Arrived on scene to find carbon monoxide alarm activated.  Gas was turned off and advised homeowners to contact plumber.
