On November 5, 2021 Lorene Southall passed away at her home in San Angelo. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening November 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 at Heritage Funeral Home, 800 Center Avenue, Brownwood, Texas. Burial will take place on Thursday, November 11, at 10:30 am at Eastlawn Cemetery with services to follow at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Brownwood.

Born November 11, 1925 Lorene grew up in the Vernon Texas area where she met and married Morris Southall. After service in the Air Force, the family moved back to Texas where Morris started his coaching career in Seminole, Texas. Throughout a 40 year span, they moved to Winters, Victoria, and Brownwood, finally retiring in San Angelo.

Lorene leaves a legacy of strength and love to her family and wide circle of friends who were blessed to know her. Her steadfast loyalty and compassion, as well as her faith, were a hallmark of her life, as she embraced her roles as wife, mother, and beloved friend to all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Maude Miller; her brothers Ed Jr. and Clois as well as her sister Mary Dean; her infant daughter Sherry; her grandson Seth as well as her husband of 69 years Morris.

Survivors include children Terry and wife Sharon Southall of Austin, Si Southall of San Angelo, well as Shae and wife Terri Southall of Odessa. Lorene is survived by six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, all of whom knew her as “Angel.”
