Audrey Lurten

Audrey Lurten, age 60, of Brownwood passed away Friday, November 5, 2021, at home surrounded by her family.

Celebration of Life for Audrey will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021, at New Life Assembly of God. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Audrey was born on May 28, 1961, to Richard and Carol (Belden) McClemans in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She served in the Air Force from 1979 to 1980. During this time, she met and married, Sidny Lurten, on May 9, 1980, in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Audrey volunteered as a Unit Commander for Civil Air Patrol for 10 years, and also was very active in Girl Scouts for 20 years. She worked for Early One Source Clinic for many years. She loved sewing and crocheting, especially baby Afghans for friends.

Audrey was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who leaves behind her husband of 41 years, Sidny Lurten of Brownwood; 4 children: Travis Lurten and wife Candy of Missouri, Amanda Wood and husband Frank of Brownwood, Jordan Lurten and wife Lisa of Missouri, and Rebecca Manchester of Brownwood; 8 grandchildren: Margaret Woodrick and husband Dale, Jules Harley-Lurten, Grace Manchester, Caralee Manchester, Catelyn Manchester, Aryana Manchester, Quincy Harley-Lurten, and Sidny Manchester; 1 great-grandson, Allister Woodrick; and sister, Sue Winiarczyk and husband Brian of Wisconsin. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard McClemans and Carol Mork; a son, Samuel Lurten; and a son-in-law, Wayne Manchester.
