Alfred ‘Gene’ Blisard

Alfred “Gene” Blisard, age 81, of Bangs passed away Monday, September 27, 2021, at home.

Funeral Services for Gene will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Rocky Creek Baptist Church with Brad Davis and Rick Justice officiating; burial will follow at the Bangs Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to services from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Gene was born on November 14, 1939, to Thomas and Willie Maude (Moore) Blisard in Cuthand, Red River County, Texas. He worked for Cooper and Scott in Lubbock and Tank Builders in Ennis. After moving to Bangs, he was self employed while working for the oil and gas industry.

Gene attended Rocky Creek Baptist Church. He loved fishing and working in his yard.

Gene is survived by 4 sons, Tony Blisard and wife Sharlett of Nolanville, Joey Blisard and wife Renee of Lake Brownwood, Bill Blisard and wife Kelly of Salado, and Russell Rosenbusch of Bangs; daughter, Caryn Troyer of Actin; daughter-in-law, Joan Blisard of Abilene; grandchildren: Zachary, Lindsey, Krista, Rachael, Jacie, Caleb, Tryston, Payton, Sydney, Savana, Rebecka, Isaac, Lacy, Ryan, and Seth; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Astrid; 1 sister, Pansy Rudd of New Braunfels; and 1 brother, T.L. Blisard and wife Marilyn of Seymour. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Blisard; 2 sons, Rance Blisard and Andrew Blisard; and his parents.
