Fire units from Brownwood and Early responded to a house fire around 9:00 pm Sunday night in the 1400 block of Waco Street in north Brownwood.

According to Brownwood Fire Chief Eric Hicks, the cause of the fire was still under investigation Monday morning.

The lone occupant of the house was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Hicks said. He said a dog at the residence is missing so those who live in the Waco street may want to keep an eye out for the pet. Hicks said the house is a total loss.
