Howard Payne University’s Jacket Alums in Ministry (JAM) raised $2,000 to purchase new Bibles for incoming students at HPU in the fall 2021 semester. The Bibles were delivered to university’s three residence halls for students to receive as they moved in on Thursday, August 19.

“It was our privilege to provide this gift to all incoming freshman and transfers,” said Dr. Chris Liebrum ’73, HPU vice president for external affairs. “Over the next few years, they will come into contact with many great books but none more important than the Word of God.”

JAM is a chapter of the HPU Alumni Association designed to foster fellowship and networking opportunities among the university’s alumni who serve or have served in Christian ministry. The organization’s work includes prayer for HPU, promoting the university to others and helping provide resources for the university’s operations and development.

The organization is led by Randy Johnson ’71, retired pastor, as president; Jeffri (Malone) Foster ’10, youth minister, as first vice president; David Cozart ’96, executive pastor, as second vice president; and Bobby Broyles ’78, retired pastor, as an officer.

More information about JAM can be found on the organization’s Facebook page at Jacket Alums in Ministry – JAM.
