Howard Gene “Tinker” Hair, age 84 of Brownwood, Texas passed away Friday, August 20, 2021 in Abilene. Services will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Heritage Funeral Home Davis-Morris Chapel with a visitation Monday, August 23, 2021 6-8 PM and Davis-Morris Chapel. Interment will be at Jenkin Springs Cemetery under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home Davis-Morris Chapel.

Tinker Hair was born October 6, 1936, in Tyler, Texas the son of the late Palmer Hair and Nettie Locke. He married Lillie Coffee at Bangs First Baptist Church, July 6, 1957, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Hair is a lifelong resident of Brown County. He liked to build hotrods and he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a brakeman.

Survived by his wife: Lillie Hair of Brownwood; 4 children: Debra D. Williams and husband Tommy of Brownwood, Larry Dale Hair and wife Robin of Early, Tully Lynn Hair and wife Donna of Brownwood, Jody Ben Hair and wife Cindy of Snyder; Brother: Bobby McBride of Arlington; Stepfather: EB McBride of Brownwood; 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren

Preceded in death by a sister Jackie Patterson and brothers, Fred McBride and James “Sonny” Hair.
