Barbara Holland

Barbara Holland, age 84, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021, in Comanche, Texas. She was born on October 4, 1936, in Comanche, to John Frank Kirkland and Bernie Lucille (McDaniel). On June 26, 1954, she was united in marriage to James Weldon Holland in Comanche, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2018.

Barbara was an activity director for Western Hills Health Care. She loved her family and enjoyed traveling with her friends and family. She owned a business with Helen Sue Stallings called the Cake Barn. She was a member of the East Side Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Weldon Holland and wife, Nancy of Comanche, TX and Ernest Holland and wife, Elaine of Bixby, OK; eight grandchildren, Staci Pruitt and husband, Kody, of Comanche, Shawna Burton and husband, Jonathan, of Abilene, Jerrod Holland and wife, Shea, of Boerne, Justin Holland and wife, Amanda, of Comanche, Jeremy Holland of Comanche, Joshua Holland and wife, Allison, of Florida, Leah Holland and husband Charlie Wynn of Oklahoma, Elissa Holland of Oklahoma; and nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Frank and Bernie Lucille (McDaniel) Kirkland; sons, Randall Holland and Walter Dan Holland; and nine brothers and sisters.

Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Monday night, August 16, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche, Texas with Ernest Holland and Rev. Steven Schulte officiating. Interment is at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche, Texas. Comanche Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

If desired, memorials may be made to East Side Baptist Church 207 FM 3381 Comanche, Texas 76442.

Lunch for the family will be at East Side Baptist Church following the service.
