Whatever your artistic media – paint, clay, photography – Brownwood Art Association can show you how to “go beyond” your traditional expression with a members-only workshop on mixed media Wed., Aug. 18.

The workshop precedes the BAA’s Mixed Media exhibit opening September 2 at the newly reopened Art Center in downtown Brownwood at 215 Fisk.

The August 18 workshop “offers artists the opportunity to add something for different expressiveness to your artwork,” according to instructor June Musick.

“The idea is to expand your means of expression in your artwork with unfamiliar and nontraditional media,” Music said. “Mixed media can add new and unexpected depth to your art.”

The workshop will be held Wednesday, Aug. 18, from 10 to 3, at the Art Center and is open to BAA members only. For additional information and registration, call Musick at (806) 632-6289.

The Mixed Media Exhibit kicks off September 2 at the Art Center’s regular “First Thursday” event and will be on display through the month.

Brownwood Art Association is a 501(c)3 organization established in 1927 to create an environment where members are encouraged and inspired to produce and exhibit their works of art, and to sponsor activities that promote the common good and a better understanding between the artist and the public.
