It’s mid-summer, and your kids – or grandkids – need an adventure: Sign them up for “Camp Book & Brush” at the Art Center July 27, 28 & 29.

“Camp Book & Brush” is conducted by local artists Claudette West and June Musick, who combine art and literature for a fun adventure into creative expression. The 3-day event inspires kids ages 4 to 14 to interpret stories read by a costumed storyteller into various art forms through paint, sketching or sculpture.

The Camp is part of Brownwood Art Association’s regular program of classes at the recently re-opened Art Center at 215 Fisk.

Students will also have an opportunity to make bird feeders to carry home. They will paint and decorate a wooden bird feeder as they like, and can also paint or decorate a small plaque of their choice, or learn the Dinotopia footprint language in clay.

    “Camp Book & Brush” classes are set for July 27, 28 and 29, for 4-6 year-olds from  10 to 11 a.m.; 7-10 years from 1:00 to 2:30; and 11-14 years from  3:30 to 5:30.

Cost is $25 for all three days of camp, or $10 per day. All supplies are furnished.

For further information and to register for “Camp Book & Brush,” call Claudette West (512) 940-1713, or June Musick (806) 632-6289.
