Mary Kay Allen, 67, of Early passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be announced at a later date.

Mary was born December 23, 1953 in Brownwood to Stanley and Betty Russell. Mary attended Brownwood High School and married Richard Allen October 6, 1983. Their union joined two families blessing them with five children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary spent her life making a home for her family. She was known for her kind words and advice. Mary would sit and listen to whatever you wanted to share with no judgement about the situation and always had solid advice on how to move forward. She loved to read any type of book and having what she called “porch time”. Mary was big on cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas meals and everybody loved her homemade dressing. She enjoyed going out dancing or staying at home and watching her favorite shows, Reba and Harry Potter. She watched her Harry Potter DVD’s so much that she wore them out and had to buy a second set. More than anything Mary loved her family, especially the grandkids and the great grandkids.

Mary is survived by her sons, Robert Crawford and wife Cindy of Brownwood, Chris Allen and wife, Laura of Orange, TX; daughters, Donna Thacker and husband Jeff of Brownwood, Sara Thacker and husband Bill of Valley View, TX, Shawna Pierce and husband Billy of Grand Prairie; brother, Stan Russell and Sue Trowbridge of Brownwood; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, adopted kids & friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Allen; parents, Stanley and Betty Russell; and brother, Michael Russell.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the American Cancer Society: https://www.cancer.org/involved/donate.html

Online condolences, tributes and memorials can be made at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net.
