Todd Whatley, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, in Brown County, Texas.

He was born on September 17, 1962, in Snyder, Texas, to Ray Lee “Skeet” and Alma Nell (Evans) Whatley. Todd was a loving father, grandfather, son and brother and was a friend to everyone. He loved all animals, especially his famous rodeo dog, Thug. He was a horse trainer by profession and trimmed trees in his spare time. He was a member of Texas Senior Pro Rodeo Association and numerous Calf Roping Associations. Todd won many Saddles during his career, including a Father-Son Saddle of which he was especially proud. He always had a good time, whether at a rodeo, family event, dancing, or just visiting with friends. He was kind hearted and would help anyone in need. Todd will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Brandon Gray and wife Tamara; daughter, Raylee Ann Whatley; grandchildren, Aiden Rhoades and Audrey Gray; mother, Alma Whatley; sister, Tana Whatley; two aunts; multiple cousins and numerous good friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Lee “Skeet” Whatley.

Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Friday, June 4, 2021, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Graveside service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 6, 2021, at Newburg Cemetery in Comanche County, Texas, with Sherry Kitchens officiating. Condolences may be offered on line at www.comanchefh.com.
