Coyita Bowker age 89 of Santa Anna, Texas passed from this life to her eternal heavenly home on Thursday, May 13, 2021 am 7:31 pm at Brownwood Nursing and Rehab.

Services will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Sally Fleming officiating.  Interment will follow at the Santa Anna Cemetery with services under the personal care of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.  The family will receive friends for visitation Monday 6:00 till 7:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home.

She was born Coyita Fae Griffin on August 5, 1931 in Copperas Cove, Texas to William Bouchelle and Doris Ponetha Hull Griffin.  Coyita was raised in Santa Anna graduating from Santa Anna High School in 1949  She continued her education at McMurry College receiving her Bachelor and Master Degrees in education.  On January 31, 1953 Coyita married Kenneth Mills Bowker, Jr. in Santa Anna and they celebrated years of marriage.  Ken preceded her in death in .

Coyita was a lifetime resident of Santa Anna where she was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and beloved first grade Teacher at Santa Anna Elementary School for 40 years. She was a devoted member for sixty five years to Epsilon Sigma Alpha and member of the Elks Club.  Coyita gave to her community by working with Meals on Wheels and serving many years as secretary-treasurer of Santa Anna Cemetery Board.  Along with her love of traveling Coyita was a member of Lillian Bridge Club.

Survivors include daughter – Debbie & husband Danny Wheatley of Santa Anna, Texas; son – Scott Bowker of Anson, Texas; 2 grandsons – Christopher Wheatley of Santa Anna, Texas, William Trent & wife Destiny Bowker of Lubbock, Texas; great-grandson – Carter Bowker of Lubbock, Texas

Coyita was preceded in death by Daughter-in-law Karen Bowker in 2015
