Shane Scott, age 48, of Ft. Worth formerly of Brownwood passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at John Peter Smith Hospital with his family by his side.

Funeral Services for Shane will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2021, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Miles officiating; burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior to services from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Shane was born on January 6, 1973, to James and Ellen (Porter) Scott in Brownwood. He loved his family deeply.

He loved being at the lake and fishing. Shane had the biggest heart; he loved helping his friends and family with projects or anything else they needed help with. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing practical jokes on his friends and family.

Shane is survived by his mom, Ellen Scott of Ft. Worth; sister, Kristan Goudy of Ft. Worth; brother, Stacy Scott of Ft. Worth; and 2 nephews, Trenton Goudy and Tyson Goudy. He is also survived by many very close cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by father, James D. Scott Jr.; paternal grandparents, J.D. & Mary Jo Scott; and maternal grandmother, Billie Porter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a charity of one’s choice. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
