STEPHENVILLE – The Brownwood High tennis team advanced to the finals in three draws during Monday’s opening day of the District 6-4A tournament.

In mixed doubles, Peter Le and Victoria Ramos will take part in Tuesday’s final against Warren/Sun of Gatesville.

In boys singles, Mo Goff will challenge Gatesville’s Sloane Early in Tuesday’s championship match.

And in girls doubles, the tandem of Lillian Jonescue and Aaliyah Uvalle will battle Lampasas’ Valdez/Clements duo for a district championship.

The first and second place teams from each event move on to regionals, however, playback matches could be involved. If the loser of the championship match has not already defeated the third-place team en route to the final, those two teams will square off to determine the district’s No. 2 seed in a particular draw.

The Region I-4A tennis tournament will be held at Texas Tech’s McLeod Tennis Center April 26-29.
