AgriLifeExtensionFor anyone looking to add a rather unique tree to their landscape, a pomegranate tree might be something to consider. Some pomegranate varieties will do well in the Brown County area and others tend to have problems.  All of the latest information on pomegranate trees will be available at a Lunch-N-Learn program scheduled for Thursday, October 4th. The program will begin at 12 noon and will be held at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office located at 605 Fisk Avenue in Brownwood.

Mr. Richard Ashton, a Brown County resident and Pomegranate Specialist, will present the program. Ashton continues to travel both in and out of the United States to speak on pomegranate and other horticultural plants. He has authored numerous articles in several leading magazines.

This will be the final program in the 2012 Lunch-N-Learn series sponsored by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Brown County Master Gardener’s Association. The Lunch-N-Learn Pomegranate program is open to anyone interested. For more information contact the Brown County Extension Office at 325-646-0386.
