Oura B. Clare, age 81, of Coleman, died Friday, March 12, 2021 at his residence with his family by his side.

Oura was born February 19, 1940 in Baird, Texas to Auva Ollin Clare and Mami Dickson Clare. He grew up in Oplin and graduated from Clyde High School. Oura has a zest for life and enjoyed woodworking, and he was an avid race car driver. He traveled all over, especially Texas and California, racing his car where he won several titles. Oura had a wonderful spirit and loving heart. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Oura is preceded in death by his parents, Auva and Mami Clare; one son, Don Clare of Abilene; two stepsons, David Casey of Slaton, and Chris Casey of Lubbock; and his brother, Everett Clare.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Clare of Coleman; his stepchildren, Michael Casey of Coleman, Kenneth Casey and wife Monica of Hale Center, and Chrystal Holland and husband Billy of Coleman; seven granddaughters; four grandsons; three great-grandboys; and five great-granddaughters.
