GRAHAM – The Brownwood Lady Lions concluded play at the Graham softball tournament Saturday with losses to the host Lady Blues, 13-12, as well as a 10-7 defeat at the hands of Holliday.

Against Graham (12-6), the Lady Lions trailed 1-0 after one inning, but grabbed a 7-1 lead in the top of the seven. The Lady Blues reclaimed an 8-7 advantage in the bottom of the second, but Brownwood responded to open a 12-8 advantage in the top of third. In the bottom of the third, however, Graham tacked on five more runs to earn the walk-off, time-limit win.

The Lady Lions finished with eight hits and drew nine walks, but left five runners on base.

Annie-Klein Allgood and Auzzlyn Benedict both hit home runs and drove in two, while Cecilia Rodriguez collected two hits and two RBIs. Dakota Simpson tallied three RBIs with one hit, Chesney Covey registered two hits, Mia Lopez finished with a hit and an RBI, and Hailey Snell added an RBI.

In the circle, Allgood and Benedict combined to allow nine earned runs on 13 hits with three strikeouts and two walks. The Brownwood defense committed a pair of errors.

In another see-saw game against Holliday (17-1), Brownwood trailed 1-0 after one inning, led 4-2 through two, was up 6-3 after three, then saw Holliday draw even in 6 in the fourth. The game was knotted at 7 through five, and the Lady Lions yielded the final three runs of the game in the sixth.

Brownwood generated eight hits and drew four walks, while Holliday committed three errors.

Allgood finished with two hits and three RBIs while Chesney Covey chipped in three hits and drove in a pair. Lopez added a single and an RBI, while Snell and Chelsey Covey also contributed base hits.

Klein went the distance in the circle and surrendered nine earned runs on 11 hits with one strikeout and no walks. Defensively, Brownwood committed two errors.

The Lady Lions (3-8-1) will attempt to snap a six-game skid when they visit Alvarado at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
