Ryan Paskewitz was announced as the winner of the Brownwood’s Got Talent competition on Saturday wrapping up the new contest during the Brownwood Reunion Celebration. Paskewitz received 2 VIP passes to the concert on Saturday night and opened for Wade Bowen.

On Saturday afternoon, all ten of the contest finalists performed three songs of their choice for their last performance for the judges. The results were decided by 50% online voting by the public, and the other 50% by the judges’ panel.

After Paskewitz was announced the winner, he went up on stage and performed “One Week” by Barenaked Ladies, and expressed his appreciation for the people who had voted for him.

This year was the first year for Brownwood’s Got Talent. Tammy Robinson, the Brownwood’s Got Talent Chairperson, hopes to make the competition an annual event.

“We really hope to do this next year and double our numbers,” states Robinson. “It’s a learning experience and we will know how to fix things next year but, it was really great, I loved it.”

Photos show Paskewitz performing on the main celebration stage Saturday night during the Brownwood Reunion Celebration.
