A graveside funeral service for Lila Rose Copeland, age 73, of Bangs, will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 4, 2021, in the Burkett Cemetery, with Sam Allen officiating.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.  Heartland Funeral & Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.

Lila loved all animals, especially horses. She loved her knitting group, visiting people in the nursing homes, dancing in her younger years, and making friends everywhere she went, whether they were two or four legged.

Lila is survived by her husband of 28 years, Clent Copeland of Bangs; a sister, Mary Ann Cornell and husband Johnny of Las Vegas; step-son, Chad Copeland of Venus; step-daughter, Jill Holland and husband John of Prosper; twelve grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Betty Bennett and Cherri Tedford, both of Brownwood, a brother-in-law, Joe Griffith of San Angelo, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Anita Carney, a step-son, Joe Copeland, mother-in-law, Edith Copeland, two sisters, Dorothy Jean Dallimore and Charlene Munfrada, a brother, Michael George Munfrada, a daughter-in-law, Patricia Copeland, sister-in-law, Jean Griffith, and two brothers-in-law, Benny Bennett and Johnny Tedford.

The family would like to thank Dr. Eddleman and the staff at Hendrick Hospice in Abilene for the great care they gave Lila.

The family requests memorials be made in Lila’s name to the Corrine T. Smith Animal Center, 3016 Milam Drive, Brownwood, Texas, 76801.
