ParadeGrandMarshals

Organizers for the Brownwood Reunion Celebration announced Tuesday that the Brownwood Fire Department Arson Dog Nika and her trainer Buddy Preston, Fire Marshal for the Brownwood Fire Department, have been selected as grand marshals for the 2012 Brownwood Reunion Celebration Feels Like Home Grand Parade.

Preston serves as the chief fire investigator for the Brownwood Fire Department.  Nika was added to the force in 2011.

The Grand Parade will take place Saturday, September 15th at 10am and will incorporate the Reunion’s 1980’s theme of “let the good times roll.”  Line-up for the parade will start at 8:45am in the Bank of America parking lot in Downtown Brownwood, and cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entries for best theme.

This year’s parade is sponsored and organized by Southside Church and will be televised on KTXS-TV.

This year’s Brownwood Reunion Celebration will be held September 14, 15, and 16. The community-wide festival features a variety of competitions, events, attractions, music, and food in addition to the main concerts.  For more info about this year’s event, visit www.celebratebrownwood.com.
