The Brown County Water Improvement District and the City of Brownwood announce that there is not a water shortage in Brownwood. The Brown County Water Improvement District Water Treatment Plant fluctuated between having and not having power throughout the day on Monday. On Monday night, Oncor restored power to the plant, and it has been running since then.
If local water availability ever reaches critical levels, we will notify the public in advance to take precautions. However that is not the case.
