BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: No. 8 May girls clinch share of District 13-A title

MAY – The No. 8 May Lady Tigers secured a share of the District 13-A girls basketball championship with a 51-33 victory over Baird in Friday night’s regular season finale.

By virtue of their win, the Lady Tigers (20-3, 9-1) will face No. 9 Eula (17-6, 9-1) at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Cross Plains to decide the No. 1 and No. 2 playoff seeds for District 13-A. Eula won the first meeting, 35-31, on Jan. 8 and May took the second, 28-26, on Jan 26.

In May’s win Friday, Reese Chambers led the way with 22 points followed by Roberta Robinette with 11, Melanie Murphree with six, Hannah McKenzie and Brianna Steele with five each and Lexi Fox with two points.
