David Godfrey

David Godfrey, age 69, of Blanket passed away Friday, January 29, 2021, in Abilene.

Private Family Graveside Services for David will be held Monday, February 1, 2021, at the Godfrey Home Place with Gary Day officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

John David Godfrey was born on February 19, 1951, to James Claud and Dorothy (Edwards) Godfrey in Brownwood. He married the love of his life, Linda Schulze, on July 11, 1970. David worked the majority of his life as a Dairyman in Brown County. He loved spending time with his grandkids and being around his animals.

David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Godfrey of Blanket; 3 daughters, Kim Lewallen and husband Scott, Misty Godfrey, Vicky Jenkins and husband Austin all of Blanket; 7 grandchildren, Charity, Kolby, Ryan, Mattie, Katelyn, Braxton, and Zoey; his father, Claud Godfrey of Blanket; 2 brothers, Grant Godfrey and wife Reca, Norman Godfrey and wife Loretta all of Blanket; sister, Claudia Harding and husband Odell of Blanket; and 3 brothers-in-law, Steve Schulze and wife Lisa of Blanket, Ronnie Schulze of Blanket, and Mike Schulze of Brownwood. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and his friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Godfrey; mother-in-law, Helen Schulze; and a nephew, Shawn Godfrey.
