BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Bangs, May, Zephyr girls prevail

DUBLIN – The Bangs Lady Dragons are in the midst of their second win streak in District 8-3A girls basketball action following Tuesday night’s 43-32 road victory over Dublin.

Bangs (8-11, 4-5) – coming off a 34-32 win over Early on Friday – received 12 points from Audrey Ivey, 11 from Brooklann Mullins and eight points from Maggie Morales in completing the district sweep over Dublin (1-14, 0-9).

May Lady Tigers 42, Baird 15

BAIRD – The TABC Class A No. 9 May Lady Tigers improved to 15-3 on the season and 4-1 in District 13-A action with Tuesday’s 42-15 thrashing of Baird.

May received 19 points from Roberta Robinette, eight from Brianna Steele, seven from Reese Chambers, three each from Sophie Lord and Hannah McKenzie and two points from Lexi Fox.

Comanche 64, Early Lady Horns 55

EARLY – The Early Lady Horns came up short in their quest for their second District 8-3A victory, falling at home to Comanche, 64-55, Tuesday night.

Early (3-15, 1-8) converted 33 percent (17 of 51) of its shots and 62 percent (16 of 26) of its free throws. The Lady Horns were led by 25 points from Tatum Reigle, 20 points from Dana Lykes, seven from Madison Torrez and three points from Jodie Lykes.

Comanche (12-5, 6-3) shot 44 percent (19 of 43) from the floor and 64 percent (21 of 33) at the free throw line.
