Several units from the Brownwood Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire Monday morning at 3310 Stephen F. Austin, part of the Yellow Rose Estates Mobile Home Park.  The call came in shortly after 9:00 am.   The small mobile home was heavily damaged.

According to James LeMond, Assistant Fire Chief/Fire Prevention Investigation, the female occupant was able to get out of the mobile home safely and is the one who called the fire department.

“Looks like we had a fire in the bedroom, everybody got out, the guys (firemen) got here real quick,” said LeMond.  Brownwood Fire Station Two is a short distance down the street so units were on scene quickly.

“We’ve got to go back in, do a little more investigating to find out what the cause is but, as far as we know right now, it was a fire in the bedroom,” LeMond said.

The Early Fire Department, Brownwood Police Department and Lifeguard EMS were also on the scene.
