Law Enforcement Blotter 8/8 – Burning Object Thrown at House

LECSmResidents at a home in the 1700 block of Main Blvd were surprised to find some type of burning object thrown onto their front porch late Tuesday night, according to Brownwood Police reports.

According to the report, the residents initially reported what they described as “a bag burning” on the porch.   A follow-up call reported that the object found on fire was possibly a “Molotov cocktail.”    Brownwood Fire Marshal Buddy Preston was called in to investigate.   Responders reported that a burned object was located on the front porch of the residence.  Preston stated that the home received little damage and that the investigation is continuing.

No suspect information was available at the time of the report and no arrests have been made.

Brownwood Police and the Brownwood Fire Marshal are investigating the incident.

Monday, August 6

*9:52am – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1900 block of 1st Street regarding a burglary.  The complainant told police that an unknown suspect(s) spray painted the walls and carpet of the rental house.  A window was also broken that was used to gain entry.  The incident is pending further investigation.

*4:33pm – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 300 block of W. Anderson regarding the theft of medication.

*5:35pm – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Booker Street regarding theft.  The complainant told police that his pit bull dog was taken from his front yard without permission.  The animal shelter was contacted and would contact the complainant if the dog was received at the shelter.

Tuesday, August 7

*3:09pm – Brownwood Police responded to the 2400 block of Durham regarding a civil standby.  While on scene, the complainant advised that she had multiple items missing and wanted to file theft against her roommate.   The incident is pending further investigation.

*7:14pm – Brownwood Police responded to the report of a stolen skateboard in the 2200 block of Dartmore.

*8:03pm – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding a theft.  The report states that a juvenile suspect stole several items from Wal-Mart and left the store.  Another officer stopped the vehicle that the suspect left in at another location.  The juvenile was detained and later released to his father at the law enforcement center.  The property was returned to the store.

Wednesday, August 8, 2012

*Brown County Sheriff Deputies arrested 51-year-old Randall Don Baker for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Blotter information compiled from local law enforcement reports and jail records.
