HAWLEY – The Early Longhorns basketball team is off to a 2-0 start thanks to a 62-37 victory at Hawley Tuesday.

Early, fresh off a 62-60 overtime win at Jim Ned Monday, jumped out to a 22-2 lead over Hawley after one quarter. The Longhorns’ lead stood at 33-19 at halftime and 44-29 through three frames.

Ethan Mitchell paced the Longhorns with 28 points trailed by Vic Cooper with 10.

Hawley received 20 points from Teghan Knight.

The Longhorns are back in action Tuesday. Dec. 1 at Merkel. Tip off is slated for 6 p.m.
