Emma Jean Jones born in Blanket, on February 8, 1925, to George W. Eoff and Lucille McLaughlin Eoff.  She went to meet the Lord and the love of her life John H. “Jack” Jones on November 6, 2020.  She and Jack were married March 17, 1947 and celebrated their 65th anniversary before Jack passed away.

Private services to be held under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home with Rev. John Seth presiding.

Jean was a homemaker who loved to bake and cook for her friends and family.  She was well known for making decorated cakes or loaves of bread every holiday for her children’s teachers. Sometimes that meant 28 cakes. And she created wonderful creations for pot luck dinners at church.  In her spare time, she crocheted afghans.  Her afghans grace churches in Blanket, Mullin, Brownwood and Walker Cancer Center patients.  She made afghans throughout the year as Christmas presents for residents in nursing homes who would not receive a present.

Survivors include Beth Bowyer of Blanket, Ann Costa and husband Vaughn of Brownwood, Johnny Jones and wife Gina of Victoria, Jeanie Williams and husband Donnie of Sugarland and Chaz Jones of Amarillo, fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John H. “Jack” Jones, grandson J. R. Bowyer, and son-in-law Pat Hoofard.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Blanket United Methodist Church.
