A two-vehicle accident sent one vehicle crashing into a house on the corner of Avenue K and 1st Street Monday evening.

Shortly before 6:00pm, emergency responders were called to an accident scene, a car verses house. According to witnesses on scene, two Chevy half ton pickups collided in the intersection, sending one into a spin and crashing into a residence in the 1900 block of 1st Street on the corner.

The homeowners were sitting in their living room in the front of the house when the pickup struck the garage area of the home. They stated that they heard a loud crash, and the whole house shook upon impact. The homeowners and all occupants of the vehicles were reported to be uninjured although quite shaken up from the accident.

A wall of the frame home was heavily damaged by the truck’s impact. The truck that was traveling northwest on 1st Street suffered severe front-end damage. The truck that was traveling northeast on Avenue K had damage on the rear panel of the truck and front driver’s side.

Brownwood Fire Department, Brownwood Police Department and Guardian EMS responded to the scene.

Pictured above is a close up of the damage to the house.  Below are pictures of the scene and the other truck involved in the accident.
