chamberlogoThe Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will begin their 2012 class of Leadership Brownwood on August 30th.

Spanning eight months, Leadership Brownwood is designed to increase individual and community leadership skills. The beginning retreat focuses on individual leadership styles and techniques and gives the participants an opportunity to get to know each other. Starting in October, the class then spends one day a month (typically from 9 AM to 3 PM) examining specific aspects of the community such as education, area government, local business and economic development, health and human services, the criminal justice system, and tourism.

Participants in the program gain insight to the inner workings of the community as a foundation for their long-term involvement in Brownwood in a variety of leadership roles.

Chamber members are eligible to enroll in the program for $395 for the year which includes transportation, meals, snacks, and supplies for 9 lessons.   The opening session will be 9am to 4pm on Thursday, August 30 at the Bertrand Technology Solutions Board Room inside the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce office located at 600 E. Depot.

For enrollment information, contact the Chamber at 325-646-9535.
