The American Southwest Conference today announced its women’s basketball players of the week and Howard Payne’s Brittany Zamora was named ASC West Division Player of the Week.

Howard Payne sophomore guard Brittany Zamora (Cedar Park, TX / Vista Ridge HS) averaged 14 points, three steals, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists to pace the nationally-ranked Lady Jackets to non-conference wins over ASC teams Texas-Tyler and Texas-Dallas in the I-35 Fred Jacoby Classic in Richardson, Texas.

Against nationally-ranked UTD and on its home court, Zamora hit five of six 3-pointers – including four in the first half to set the tone for a 15-point halftime lead. She had a game-high 21 points. Over the two games, Zamora went 8-for-10 from the free throw line.
