Juan “Jr” Manuel Gamez-Meek, 15 of Blanket went to be with Jesus in Heaven Sunday, August 23, 2020.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM, Friday, August 28, 2020 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel.

Jr. was born February 5, 2005 in Mexico City, Mexico to Jennifer Mathews and Juan deDios Gamez-Huidobro.  He spent most of his life in Mexico City before recently moving to Blanket to live with his mother.  Jr. was enrolled in Brownwood High school, the 9th grade.  Jr. was like most young men his age, he really enjoyed the Avengers, his favorite being Spiderman.  He was very athletic and enjoyed playing any kind of sport.  Jr. was witty and smart, he had several Rubik’s cubes and was good at solving the problem.  He was always trying to solve it in a faster time than before.  He had a protector’s heart.  This came from being the only son with several sisters.  He was always polite to adults and was eager to help no matter what was asked of him.  He was fearless, he traveled from Mexico City to Texas by himself so he could spend time with his family here.  A bright shining star, gone to soon.

Jr. is survived by his mother & stepfather, Jennifer and husband Chris Mathews of Blanket; Juan & wife, Marta Gamez-Huidobro of Mexico City, Mexico; sisters, Allysa Hull of San Angelo, Makayla Gamez, Yesenia Gamez, Brookelynn Wilson & Rae Wilson all of Blanket; grandmother, Anita Baker; grandfather, Lenard Victor Neel; great grandmother or GG, Ethel Paine of Cleburne; nephew, Mateo David Gamez.

Jr. was preceded in death by his uncle, Donald Ray Baker.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the following link https://www.gofundme.com/f/ppzyyy-jr?fbclid=IwAR1IjJULmB9KDpU7xhinNpQUhDeHnMr3C777C8lZ7MmD90qcMVQkqvlvLnU
