Gary Lynn Sanderson

Gary Lynn Sanderson, age 74, of Early passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Funeral Services for Gary will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Slaymaker officiating; burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday, evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Gary was born on October 31, 1945, to J.E. and Lola Bell (Gifford) Sanderson in Brownwood. He worked for 31 years as an engineer at Santa Fe Burlington North.

He loved working in his shop and had an amazing talent and ability to repair anything. He also enjoyed gardening and antique shopping.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Deborah “Deb” Sanderson of Early; 7 children: Kathy Gay and husband Rusty of La Porte, Brian Sanderson of Alvarado, Brandi Rhodes and husband John of Abilene, Alice Jones of Blanket, Travis Jones of Arlington, John Jones and wife Amber of Derby, KS, Raylee Jones and husband Jason of Brownwood; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Marc Sanderson and wife Stephana of Santa Anna, Dennis Sanderson and wife Virginia of Early, Alvin Sanderson and wife Jackie of Temple; and a very close cousin, Lewis Gifford of Early. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.E. and Lola Bell Sanderson; great-grandson, Aiden Royall; and sisters-in-law, Vickie Sanderson and Ruth Sanderson.
