Below are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water stained; 79–83 degrees; 10.90′ low. Black bass are very good on soft plastics, buzzbaits, and spinnerbaits over grass. Hybrid striper are fair on shad. White bass are good on minnows and Li’l Fishies off lighted docks at night. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs. Channel catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait.

Lake Coleman

Water lightly stained; 78–81 degrees; 15.92′ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse spinnerbaits and soft plastics. Hybrid striper are good on live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles in 20–35 feet. Channel catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 79–85 degrees; 41.55′ low. Black bass are good on top waters early and late, midday switching to deep diving crankbaits, Texas rigs, shaky head jigs and wacky rigs. Crappie are fair to good on live minnows. White bass are good on slabs and Humdingers. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

Lake Proctor

Water stained; 79–83 degrees; 0.72′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon crankbaits and soft plastic worms. Striped bass are fair on live shad. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines and juglines baited with perch and goldfish. Yellow catfish are slow.
