Junior Vasquez, 79 (Santa Anna)

Junior Vasquez of Santa Anna, Texas passed from this life to be with his Lord on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 2:45 am at his residence at the age of 79 years.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Laurent Mvondo officiating.  Interment will follow at Santa Anna Cemetery with services under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.  Rosary will be Friday at 6:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home.

He was born Venino Ruiz Vasquez, Jr. on June 23,1941 in Santa Anna, Texas to Venino  Vasquez, Sr. and Elena Ruiz Vasquez. Junior was a lifelong resident of Coleman County and attended the Santa Anna Schools.  On June 27, 1965 he married Mary Guerrero and they celebrated 55 years of marriage.  After 38 years of employment as a machine operator he retired from Santa Fe Railroad.

Junior enjoyed playing community baseball in his youth and as a young adult.  Later he enjoyed watching his children participate in various activities, especially tennis and football. In later years TV sports and listening to his favorite Country and Western and Mexican music filled his days.

Wife – Mary Vasquez of Santa Anna, Texas

Daughter – Laurie & husband Emilio Rico of Santa Anna, Texas

3 Sons – Ramon Vasquez of Santa Anna, Texas

Gregory & wife Pam Vasquez of Brownwood, Texas

Matthew Vasquez of Santa Anna, Texas

Sister-in-law – Amelia Vasquez of Brownwood, Texas

10 Grandchildren

17 Great Grandchildren

Numerous Nieces and Nephews

Junior was preceded in death by his parents;

sons – Pablo and Johnny Vasquez; Grandson – Lance Vasquez

Brothers – Paul Vasquez and Ramon Vasquez,

Sisters – Carmen Rendon, Juanita Diaz, Betty Rolfe, Lucy Diaz

Henderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
