BFD: Fire & Rescue Reports 6/11

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of June 3- June 9, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 27 medical emergencies, 2 motor vehicle accidents, 3 fire calls, and 2 hazardous material calls.

Reports of interest responded to by the Brownwood Fire Department include:

Sunday June 3

*2:10 PM -BFD was dispatched and cancelled en route to an incident.

*8:02 PM -BFD was called to a fire in the 1000 block of Cordell Street.  The incident was determined to be a trash receptacle fire, which was then extinguished by fire crews.

Monday June 4

*7:01 PM -BFD responded to a hazardous material call on the 1600 block of 4th Street. Crews arrived on scene to find a gas meter broken off and spewing gas. Fire crews plugged the line. Atmos arrived on scene.

Thursday June 7

*5:18 AM – BFD responded to an electrical incident at 2400 block of Monterrey.  Due to the storm the resident’s transformer was sparking. Fire crews investigated and found that it was due to arcing of electrical equipment, and determined there was no hazard.

*3:43 PM – BFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on FM 2526. An 18-wheeler was stuck in a bar ditch blocking the roadway.

*11:08 PM – BFD responded to a fire call on 1000 block of Cordell Street. The incident was determined to be a trash receptacle fire which was then extinguished.

Friday June 8

*3:33 PM – BFD responded to a fire call on 2400 block of Songbird Circle.

*7:08 PM –BFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on 4th and Brady. Crews checked for injuries and provided first aid.

Saturday June 9

*7:51 AM –BFD responded to a hazardous material call on the 2100 block of 1st. The carbon monoxide alarm was activated, but nothing was detected after investigating.
