Weekly Fishing Reports for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water stained; 77–81 degrees; 10.99′ low. Black bass are good on buzzbaits and spinnerbaits over grass flats, and on black/chartreuse soft plastic worms with chartreuse tails near the rocks. Hybrid striper are fair on shad and Li’l Fishies. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies and perch colored crankbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and blue tube jigs in 10–16 feet. Channel catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait.

Lake Coleman

Water lightly stained; 78–81 degrees; 15.88′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon spinnerbaits and black/blue soft plastics. Hybrid striper are fair on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 79–85 degrees; 41.41′ low. Black bass are good on Yellow Magics early, later switching to Texas rigs, shaky head jigs, medium running chartreuse crankbaits and weightless Senkos. Crappie are fair to good on live minnows. White bass are good topwaters, slabs and Humdingers. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait.

Lake Proctor

Water stained; 79–83 degrees; 0.84′ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse crankbaits and soft plastics early and late. Striped bass are good on live shad. White bass are good on minnows and perch colored spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and pink tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are fair on trotlines and juglines baited with perch. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait.
