Brownwood Fire Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Office were busy Thursday afternoon diverting traffic off of FM 2525 after a tractor-trailer jackknifed blocking both lanes of traffic.

The incident occurred approximately 3:45pm on Thursday.  Fire officials on scene report that the driver had attempted to turn around and slid off the road.  Firefighters gathered information as BSCO deputies helped divert traffic to other routes until a tow truck could arrive to pull the truck from the muddy ditch.

The only vehicles allowed around the scene were a military convoy, pictured below.  Pictured at top is the tractor-trailer blocking traffic.

This was the second jackknifed truck reported in the area today.  The first incident occurred in the early morning hours in Early caused by heavy rain (click here for story on first incident).
