Funeral services for Janie Corona, 84, of Goldthwaite, will be held at 10am on Tuesday, March 6th, 2018, at St Peters Catholic Church in Goldthwaite, with Father Javier Toscano officiating. Interment will follow at the Big Valley Cemetary in Mills County. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Monday, March 5th, at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home in Goldtwaite, with the Rosary beginning at 7pm. Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Janie passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018, in Brownwood, TX.
Janie was born on July 21, 1933, to Marcos & Amelia (Vela) Gonzales in San Saba, TX. She married Nick Corona on Sept 25, 1959. She was a home care provider with a loving heart and enjoyed helping others. She was a woman of faith and always looked to God for her strength.
Janie was a member of St Peters Catholic Church in Goldthwaite, TX.  Known to her family as Mom, she was an honest, hardworking, and kind woman, who selflessly served her church, family, and others.  Mom will always hold a special place in all of our hearts.
Survivors include her daughter, Elva Cantu, of Brownwood, TX, and sons, Tony Corona and wife, Sandra, and Ricky Corona and wife, Luz, all of Brownwood, TX. Her grandchildren are Sandro Cantu and wife, Julie; Melissa Okposin and husband Abas; Nicholas Cantu, Marcus Corona, Ryan Corona, Paulette Rosales, Jose Luis Rosales, and Ricky Corona, Jr. Her great-grandchildren include Jake, Stella, Miles, and Aubrey. Her siblings include her sisters, Cuca Martinez, San Saba, TX; Minerva Garza, Canyon, TX; Mary Miller, Stephenville, TX; and Dora Bosquez, Goldthwaite, TX. Her brothers, Augustine Gonzales, San Saba, TX; Joe Gonzales, Dallas, TX, and Louis Gonzales, Tin Top, TX. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Nick Corona, parents, Marcos & Amelia Gonzales, and two brother, Mike & Juan Gonzales.
