The Early Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting for the American Cancer Society to help promote their upcoming event.

The Brown County Relay for Life event is set for June 6 from 7 p.m. to 7 am at Gordon Wood Stadium in Brownwood.  Every year, the Relay for Life movement across the West Texas Region raises more than $400 million.  The American Cancer Society puts these donations to work, investing in groundbreaking research in every type of cancer and providing free information and services to cancer patients and their caregivers.

This year’s event theme for Relay for Life is “We Can Be Heroes,” based on superheroes.  The public is invited to attend the event as well as support a fundraiser.

Upcoming Brown County Relay for Life Fundraisers include Friday, April 25th:  CMS Health Care & Holloway is sponsoring a concert (Bush Holloway Band), dinner and dance at the 3M Club House Hwy 377 S.  To purchase a ticket call, 325-643-4900.  Saturday, April 26th:  Girling Hospice will host a Relay for Life 5K at Riverside Park.

To sign up and be a part of this year’s event or for more information, visit the Brown County Relay for Life website or call Mary Payton at 325-944-2500.
