Brownwood Police Sgt. Troy Carroll said today that an arrest has been made in connection with a stabbing that occurred on Sunday morning. 19-year-old Jose Segovia Jr. of Brownwood was arrested at 2:14pm on Tuesday in the 2100 block of 9th Street in Brownwood.
Segovia is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon in connection with the Sunday morning incident that resulted in another male being stabbed in the leg. Segovia is being held in the Brown County Jail on $50,000 bond.
No charges have been filed in connection with the Friday night fight that resulted in multiple stabbing victims. Carroll said the investigation into that case is still continuing.
“It was not gang related,” Carroll said regarding the weekend fight. He indicated that it was just two groups of friends getting into a fight and not organized gang activity.
