Johnny Ramirez, Sr. was born on June 24, 1940 to David Ramirez and Guadalupe Carlos Ramirez in Elgin, Texas.  He married Catherine Torres on December 31, 1968 in Austin, Texas. They lived in Bangs for thirty three years.  Johnny was employed for many years with Lucero Masonry and was a Christian.  Mr. Ramirez passed away on May 25, 2012.

Those left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of forty three years, Kathy; his daughters, Melissa Gomez and husband, Chris of Brownwood, Deborah DeLeon and husband, Tommy of Santa Anna, and Ashley Gonzales and husband, Jeremy of Irving; his son, Johnny Ramirez, Jr. of Brownwood; his sisters, Annie Cornado of Smithville, Texas, Patsy Leyndecker of Temple, Texas, and Mary Cervantes of Hale Center, Texas; his brothers; David Ramirez and Margarito Ramirez, both of Austin; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Raymond Ramirez and Ned Ramirez.

Funeral Services for Mr. Ramirez will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Blaylock Funeral Home with Alvin Williams and Mary Tafoya officiating.  Interment will follow at the Bangs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
